Wilson, Nalam finish in top 30

Hailey Wilson and Bridget Nalam supplied the excitement for the Unalaska Lady Raiders on Saturday at the Palmer Invitational Cross Country Meet. The two were among four Unalaska High School girls competing in the meet.
Wilson, who has turned in solid outings in each of the last two weekend in Anchorage, paced the Lady Raiders by sprinting to a 20th-place finish in the girls' Division II standings. She finished the 3.1-mile race with a time of 22 minutes, 49.22 seconds.
Nalam placed 29th overall with a mark of 24:04.84. Julieanne Berikoff also did well. She finished 45th in the field of 61 Division II runners with a time of 25:43.21.
Mercedez Caudillo also completed the race for Unalaska, which did not field enough runners to figure into the team standings. Caudillo was 54th at 27:52.27.
Dillingham had a pair of solid performances from Alasandra Bavilla and Jean Krause. Both DHS runners finished in the top 40 positions. Bavilla raced her way to a 26th-place finish by turning in a time of 23:43.44. Krause was 35th at 25:09.11.
Anchorage Christian's Tessa O'Hara won the girls Division II title. She turned in a time of 19:39.63. Grace Christian's Mazzy Jackson and Charlee Demientieff were second and third, respectively.
Grace Christian won the girls' team title with 21 points. Galena and ACS were second and third, respectively. Bethel and Barrow rounded out the top five.
