Any charges reported are merely accusations and the defendant and/or defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Aug 7 - 9:45 a.m., Out of town wife reported receiving unpleasant, unwanted phone calls and text messages from her estranged husband in Unalaska. Officers received similar information from the estranged husband, who indicated he was primarily concerned about his children. Officer provided information to both parties regarding possible solutions to their problems. 1:01 p.m., EMS personnel stood by during a half-marathon. 1:07 p.m., Trespass advisement issued, per management, to a man who had been illegally sleeping in a local boarding house. 2:21 p.m., A man who intended to bulldoze a decrepit trailer located on family-owned property found that one of the other family members had given permission to two men to stay in the hovel. An officer advised the caller that the matter was civil and needed to be resolved within the family. 2:55 p.m., Burn permit. 3:48 p.m., Vehicle unlock. 4:28 p.m., Wallet found and returned to owner. 7:43 p.m., A man who did not have quite enough money to pay for his cab fare, and did not have ID to cash his paycheck, kicked shut the door to his taxi when the driver demanded full fare. An officer made arrangements for the man to cash his paycheck and pay the driver the outstanding debt. 8:01 p.m., A person reported a vehicle going somewhat over the speed limit had passed him as he walked across Gilman Road. The man was not injured nor in fear, but thought the driver needed to pay more attention in this pedestrian-heavy area.

Aug 8 - 1:38 a.m., A father called to report that his son, who was in his room down the hallway, was playing his music too loudly. The complaint was passed on to the son, who said he had been home for an hour and none of his family had bothered to ask him to turn down his music. 9:10 a.m., Request to document several recent instances of vandalism at the Unalaska Public Library. 11:56 a.m., Loose dog. 2:10 p.m., Caller reported drug activity at his home in Texas, and asked that the problem be documented locally per instructions from a Texas police department. 2:56 p.m., Officers assisted with the removal of a drunk from the Grand Aleutian premises. 3:38 p.m., Caller reported a possibly intoxicated driver. Officers contacted the suspect driver, who was not intoxicated but admitted to having made several sudden moves while driving as he attempted to communicate with a driver going in the opposite direction. 3:39 p.m., Loose dog. 3:43 p.m., Caller reported young boys playing around an old military bunker complex. An officer contacted the boys and advised them of the dangers associated with their playground of choice. 3:59 p.m., Feral cat turned in for destruction. 5:12 p.m., A possibly unexploded, WWII-era hand grenade was located on a nearby beach. A team marked the area and provided appropriate military authorities with relevant information. 6:32 p.m., One of two drunken men who were causing problems at the Grand Aleutian fell down and cut his head while trying to flee from Unisea Security. 6:36 p.m., EMS personnel provided care and transport to a drunk with a laceration on his head. 6:45 p.m., Officer assisted EMS personnel. 11:31 p.m., Unisea Security requested assistance with three men who had been engaged in an altercation. Officers learned that one man had screamed at two others while waiting in a cafeteria line, and found no evidence that a crime had occurred.

Aug 9 - 2:04 a.m., Officers responded to an apartment from which a phone call, with yelling in the background, had been received. Officers learned that a man and his wife had disagreed over how best to handle the smell of fuel in their residence. 2:07 a.m., Fire personnel checked a residence in which a strong fuel smell had been noted, and evacuated the home until they had verified it was safe for the residents to return. 2:15 a.m., EMS personnel evaluated several family members who had been evacuated from a house which smelled strongly of fuel. 7:02 a.m., Out of town wife reported she has not heard from her husband in about 36 hours, though typically they communicate each night. His friends and employer thought he may have gone fishing or camping but could provide no further information. The wife called back a short time later to say her husband had returned. 7:49 a.m., Officer issued a trespass advisement, per Unisea Security, to a man who had been involved in a disturbance the previous evening. 6:53 p.m., Caller reported a possibly intoxicated driver swerving across the roadway. 9:57 p.m., A bicycle, stolen from a garage. Under investigation. 10:12 p.m., Officers arranged transport for the body of a recently deceased woman to the local morgue. 11:28 p.m., Officer contacted a person identified as having possibly been involved in a drug transaction. No evidence of such activity was discovered.

Aug 10 - 1:05 a.m., Caller reported that a driver sleeping in his vehicle woke up and drove away. 2:12 a.m., Officer observed a man skipping along a roadway, across a bridge and to the entrance of the nearest bar. After finding the bar closed, the skipping man entered a nearby bunkhouse. A security officer for the bunkhouse asked that the man, who was not one of their employees, be given a trespass advisement. 7:24 a.m., EMS volunteer accompanied a group of senior citizens on a fishing charter. 7:39 a.m., Caller asked that an officer issue a trespass advisement to a woman who was no longer welcome at his house. 9:06 a.m., Caller reported that during the night a small lawn chair had been set on fire in their front yard. Under investigation. 11:06 a.m., Officer assisted a citizen with court-related paperwork from the State of Arizona. 2:09 p.m., Officer contacted a man with a roadside business, after receiving a complaint about whether the man had the appropriate licenses and permissions to run such a business. 3:09 p.m., Officer contacted a man with a roadside business, after receiving a second complaint about whether the man had the appropriate licenses and permissions to run such a business. A determination was made that the man needed to meet additional requirements before using City property for his business location. 5:31 p.m., Caller reported children crossing the road without using a cross walk due to the recent spate of sunny weather. 8:26 p.m., Caller reported people possibly fishing illegally. State Troopers confirmed that the people in question were fishing legally.

Aug 11 - 12:58 a.m., After Unisea Security reported having an uncooperative inebriate in one of their bunkhouses, officers advised the drunken man and his friends to turn down their music, lest they be arrested. 3:43 a.m., Officers responded to a Unisea bunkhouse, where two roommates had engaged in mutual combat resulting in minor injuries to both parties. No charges were filed. 6:28 a.m., Officers responded to another Unisea bunkhouse, where a man and his girlfriend had become involved in a fight a day or so earlier. Officers later learned that the man had stolen and/or destroyed some of the woman's property as a result of the argument. 8:05 a.m., A man admitted to destroying his girlfriend's cell phone after the two argued. No charges were filed per the District Attorney. 2:01 p.m., A beige wallet, lost and then found. 2:51 p.m., A yellow spiral notebook lost and then found. 3:24 p.m., Caller reported a drunk asleep on the ground near a dumpster. Officers contacted the drunk, who said he was simply looking for a place to get some rest. 3:47 p.m., Unisea Security asked that trespass advisements be given to an employee who was no longer welcome in any of the hospitality facilities. 4:43 p.m., Caller reported a vehicle with an object protruding dangerously from the rear, traveling on Captain's Bay Road. The vehicle was not located. 5:54 p.m., Unisea Security asked that trespass advisements be given to another employee who was no longer welcome in any of the hospitality facilities. 6:05 p.m., Out of town caller reported a man had been assaulted at sea two weeks earlier. Under investigation. 6:21 p.m., Kitten turned in for adoption. 7:49 p.m., Complaint regarding speeding drivers travelling through an area frequented by children and pets. 9:34 p.m., Complaint about unnecessary noise late at night. 10:20 p.m., Nokia cell phone reported lost.

Aug 12 Ð 12:40 a.m., Caller reported an intoxicated man refused to leave the airport premises. A few minutes later he agreed to leave. Officers responded and found an intoxicated man waiting for a cab. 12:41 a.m., Officer directed traffic around a disabled vehicle. 1:03 a.m., Officers escorted a drunken, chest-thumping man to his bunkhouse room after receiving a report from Unisea Security that the man was challenging others to fight. 2:08 a.m., Officers contacted a man who was passed out against a warehouse, and learned he had been drinking at a local bar and was trying to make his way back to his vessel. Officers located a sober third party who agreed to take responsibility for the inebriate. 8:07 a.m., Mother reported a nasty message, probably meant for her daughter, had been left on the window of her car. Under investigation. 12:36 p.m., Caller reported his check book had been stolen from his home in Washington. An officer advised that the complaint should be made to authorities with jurisdiction in that state. 12:52 p.m., Officers took into protective custody a local dipsomaniac found passed out against the side of a building. 1:28 p.m., Caller reported several business signs had been spray-painted with nasty messages. Under investigation. 1:44 p.m., Burn permit. 5:46 p.m., Transport of a deceased person to the airport. 5:53 p.m., Medevac. 7:41 p.m., A man who had been drinking at a friend's house found that he was missing almost $1000 worth of blank postal money orders after he left his friend's house. Under investigation. 10:02 p.m., Caller reported an extremely intoxicated man wandering about on Salmon Way. An officer transported the drunk to his vessel, where the captain agreed to take responsibility for him. 10:03 p.m., Isaac R. Ramirez, 19 yoa, of Washington, was arrested for Theft III after officers determined he had stolen approximately $600 from his cousin's roommate.

Aug 13 - 12 midnight, Jeremy S. Briggs, 32 yoa, of Washington, was arrested for Driving under the Influence after Briggs was contacted by an officer regarding a theft investigation. 2:09 a.m., Officers responded to a disturbance call at the Harbor View Bar, where one stranger backhanded another stranger, for no reason whatsoever. None of those involved cared to press charges. 2:30 a.m., Officers issued a trespass advisement, per Unisea Security, to a man involved in an altercation at the Harbor View Bar. 2:31 a.m., Officers issued trespass advisements, per Westward Security, to several men who had been involved in the commission of crimes on Westward Seafoods property. 5:38 a.m., Citation issued to illegally parked vehicle at the airport. 8:02 a.m., Vehicle unlock. 2:24 p.m., A woman reported being victimized by her female roommate, through unwanted touching and voyeuristic activities. Investigating officers determined that no sexual assault occurred, but that other related charges could be forthcoming. 3:31 p.m., Loose dog. 3:56 p.m., Feral cat and kittens. 4:15 p.m., Complaint about fishermen snagging and harassing fish. An officer contacted four possible suspects, two of whom had fishing poles and valid licenses and all of whom denied any wrongdoing. 4:23 p.m., EMS and Fire volunteers responded to a report that an "old gentleman" had just jumped from the South Channel Bridge into Captain's Bay. 4:24 p.m., Officers assisting Fire and EMS personnel contacted two uninjured men who had elected to take a recreational plunge from the South Channel Bridge, and who were most apologetic for having caused a commotion amongst the emergency response community. 4:36 p.m., EMS volunteers stood by at a park. 5:32 p.m., Caller reported a man had illegally parked in an apartment parking lot, ignored the caller's complaint about same, put a bicycle in his vehicle, and had then driven away. The caller said he would fight the dastardly parker if he returned. 7:14 p.m., EMS volunteers provided medical care to a man found unconscious near the Harbor View Bar. 7:16 p.m., Officer assisted EMS personnel. 7:46 p.m., Dog owner reported her dog missing. 9:18 p.m., Lost wallet, with identification card and a considerable amount of cash, possibly in a taxi. 11:20 p.m., Officers told a man to turn down his music following an anonymous complaint about the noise level of same.
